Have to say I really enjoyed the day. With so many years in the business, I was kind of expecting John Dawsons enthusiasm for all things Hi Fi and AV to be insubstantial by now.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

Hats off to you sir

Very very interesting.. Reading about the launch of the DV88 very much followed my own experience.. but it did not take that long for the software to become stable... This was my first expensive piece of Audio/video equipment and has been worth every penny.. (Though I could have slung the drive out of the window a few times)

I believe my player was one of the first to get the 88+ upgrade..and finally my player is now back at Arcam being upgraded again to the DV89.

Its nearly five years since I bought the DV88 and heres looking towards the next few.

Nice to be able to read the background to how Arcam got off the ground..

Thanks

Matt

Nice interview. Great to hear about the early days as well as John's views on emerging technologies.

Interesting article. I must admit Arcam equipment was where most of my fellow students spent their student grants in the first year at college, as we tried to outdo each other in the quest for the perfect sound system.

However, I was particularly interested to hear my dad (John Greenbank - Tangent) getting a mention and I also remember Bob Stuart and John Dawson. You'll be pleased to hear that he's still tinkering with new speaker and amplifer designs, albeit from a retirement shed in Dorset.

- Martin Greenbank
